NASHVILLE, TN (Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival) - The Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival is bigger and better than ever in 2006 with the NEW 'Fast Access' Club Show Pass, daytime festival activities and a multifarious line-up of songwriters and artists representing a wide variety of musical genres.

The diverse 2006 Tin Pan South line-up ranges from critically-acclaimed Pop/Contemporary Christian artist Ashley Cleveland to dynamic, No 1 hit songwriter Rivers Rutherford to Jim Peterik, member and songwriter of beloved '80s rock band Survivor.

Two-time Emmy award-winning songwriter Victoria Shaw, Songwriters Hall of Fame member Gary Burr, CHR artist and songwriter David Pack, former Fleetwood Mac band member Bob Welch, multi-hit songwriter Chas Sanford, and 2004 CMA Song of the Year Winner Craig Wiseman round out the first of many upcoming performer announcements for Tin Pan South 2006.

Ashley Cleveland was the first woman to ever be nominated and win the Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album. In fact, Cleveland won it twice - in both 1996 and 1999! Her Bus Named Desire record was named one of the 10 Most Overlooked Albums of 1994 by Billboard. (Her 1991 album Big Town garnered the same accolade from the magazine.) A multi-faceted songwriter and artist, Cleveland has performed with John Hiatt, Steve Winwood, Etta James, Emmylou Harris, Joe Cocker, Patty Smyth and many more. Cleveland's performances have been featured on telev! ision programs ranging from Saturday Night Live to Austin City Limits to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Rivers Rutherford got his start in 1989 by jumping the fence to the home of Chips Moman, producer of the Highwaymen. The result? Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson recorded Rutherford's song 'American Remains!' Since that day, artists including Gretchen Wilson, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Trick Pony, Blake Shelton and Jamie O'Neal have recorded his songs. Rutherford also penned 'Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You' which spent six weeks at No 1 and is the most successful single ever recorded by Brooks & Dunn to date.

Jim Peterik is the co-founder of 1960s sensation The Ides of March AND a member of 1980s supergroup Survivor. Survivor's smash hit "Eye of the Tiger" from Rocky III earned Survivor Grammy and People's Choice Awards as well as an Oscar nomination. Other Peterik-penned hits with Survivor include "The Search is Over," High On You" and "I Can't Hold Back."

Victoria Shaw's songs have sold over 65 million cds collectively. The two-time Emmy winner's credits include 'The River' (Garth Brooks) and 'Nobody Really Wants to Be Lonely' (Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera), the latter written along with hit songwriter Gary Burr. Shaw has also written songs for Olivia Newton-John, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire and Michael McDonald. Shaw has released three solo cds and has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, even opening for Garth Brooks at his historic Central Park Concert.

Songwriter, producer and performer Gary Burr is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Cds featuring his songs have sold over 50 million units worldwide. Burr has worked with Ringo Starr, Desmond Child, Vince Gill, Carole King, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Burr wrote the No 1 smash hit 'Before Your Love' recorded by American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

David Pack was the lead singer, guitarist and writer for legendary rock group Ambrosia. Today he is a respected solo artist as well as a Grammy-winning record producer. Pack wrote Ambrosia's Gold No 1 CHR singles 'How Much I Feel' and 'Biggest Part of Me' as well as the No 1 CHR hit 'All I Need' performed by Jack Wagner. Pack's writing credits also include 'All the Pretty Ponies' with Kenny Loggins.

Bob Welch is best known as the singer, songwriter and guitarist for legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac AND for his own platinum solo albums and top-ten hits including "Sentimental Lady" and "Ebony Eyes" from French Kiss (Capitol).

Mutli-faceted songwriter, producer and performer Chas Sanford has worked with the likes of Stevie Nicks, Berlin and John Waite. Sanford is best known for his hit "Missing You," co-written with John Waite and performed by John Waite and Tina Turner.

Craig Wiseman has a number of awards under his belt including the 2004 CMA Song of the Year Award 'Live Like You Were Dying' (written with Tim Nichols), ASCAP's 43rd Annual Country Awards Song of the Year Award, and the 2003 ASCAP Country Artist of the Year Award. Wiseman has penned 13 No 1 hits and 90 charted singles. His credits include 'In a Real Love' by Phil Vassar, 'Rough & Ready' by Trace Adkins, and 'That's What It's All About' by Brooks & Dunn.
