Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Lofton Creek) - Heartland's lead singer, Jason Albert, has found success in singing songs that connect deep in the heart of their fans. Their debut single, 'I Loved Her First,' spoke of a father's original love for his daughter.
'I loved Her First' leaped to the No 1 spot on Billboard and R&R in an amazing 16 weeks making
Heartland the most talked about new act in country music today. The current single, 'Once A Woman (Gets A Hold of Your Heart,) expresses the power of a woman's love. Now, with the recent birth of his daughter, Kelson Noel, Albert can truly experience the meaning behind those compelling songs he sings.
The birth of Albert's first child came a little sooner than expected on a hot day in Huntsville AL, on August 14, 2007. Albert admits he wasn't prepared for the huge emotional tug the birth of his daughter would have on his life. Now the songs he sings every night, as he travels across the country, have even more meaning to the new father. 'I was so happy I wasn't on the road touring when my daughter was born. Being in the hospital room with my wife while during the birth was an amazing experience,' explains Albert. 'I am overcome with joy when I hold my baby girl. I am definitely a proud Daddy.'
Since the birth of his daughter, Albert is enjoying singing to his little one and jokes how he changed the words to his new single to, ' Once a Baby (Gets a hold of Your Heart).' He even admits that changing diapers is a small sacrifice he doesn't mind doing at all.
Albert is not the only dad in the group. In fact, all of the Heartland members except Charles Crawford have children. 'The guys didn't really give too much parenting advice. They would just grin and say, just wait,' which I am not really sure what that means,' he says smiling.
Currently, Heartland is getting great feedback from their current single, 'Once A Woman (Gets A Hold of Your Heart.)' Pete Salant, PD for WWYZ made the new song his 'one out-of-the-box add for 2007,' calling it 'timeless, unforgettable.' Charlie Cook, VP/Programming/Country, Cumulus Media excitedly commented, 'It has a great sound and the topic is right in the female demo wheelhouse.'
Heartland will be on the road visiting radio stations and continuing their 2007 performance tour in support of their new single. For more information and up-to-date performances, visit www.heartlandcountry.cc
