NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Top40 Charts/ Music City Media) - Music industry veteran Steve Pope is pleased to announce his newest business venture, Blue Steel Records. With over 20 years experience in the entertainment sector, Pope has spent his career seeking out, producing and promoting new music in Nashville, positioning himself from behind the drum set to front and center as lead man for the new independent record label.

Steve Pope began his career in the industry as a professional drummer and, after college, was hired as a member of Pride Music Group. Over the past two decades, Pope has become a major player on Music Row with seats at diverse companies such as Porter-Gentry Productions, Sunstone Music Group, Malaco Music Group and Web Four/Caliber Music.

Pope has demonstrated time and time again his inherent ability to recognize a hit song; as a song plugger, he's secured a number of chart-toppers including: 'Wild Horses,' (Garth Brooks), 'Never Again, Again,' (Lee Ann Womack), 'I Know She Still Loves Me,' (George Strait), 'It Doesn't Get Any Countrier Than This,' (Tim McGraw) and many more.

Pope lends his philosophic vision and knowledge to Blue Steel Records as general manager and head of A&R; he will integrate his experience within every facet of the label's business model blending tried and true music industry know-how with dynamic talent and technological marketing strategies.

Marching to the beat of of a steady drum, an example of Pope's nonconforming approach is Blue Steel's hometown marketing outreach, using each artist's hometown as the epicenter for the viral marketing campaign.

'Blue Steel artists will initially cater to and strengthen their local fan base to connect and engage directly with the folks who know them best,' Pope said. 'This is a grassroots, community networking movement that has proven in the past to be successful and we plan to reintroduce a model that we believe works!'

A tunesmith and musician with onstage, backstage, and behind-the-scenes involvement, and a vitality for the future of the music, Pope is impassioned by performing and dedicated to reveal bright talents via this endeavor.

Blue Steel's current roster includes Troy, Alabama native Anna Garrott and Harrisburg, Illinois native Lathan Moore. Anna Garrott is set to release her new single under the Blue Steel ink mark in late August 2009.

Blue Steel Records' offices are located at 30 Music Square West, Suite 310, Nashville, TN 37203.
