Davidsen came relatively late to the electric guitar, he dabbled in guitar as a youngster, but studied cello and went on to play bass in high school. At the age of twenty-one, is when he started taking the electric guitar seriously, his musical direction was due in part to jazz guitar icon George Benson. 'What an incredible player,' says Davidsen, who was inspired to scat while listening to Benson. He soon drew crowds that turned out regularly at his live shows, which have included the prestigious Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival in Southern California and the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City Beach, Florida.
The Jazz Network Worldwide is featuring a 'sneak peek' of Drew's new single 'We 3 Stringz' Sept. 9-15th at www.thejazznetworkworldwide.com. He also was invited to perform his single on the very first benefit concert streamed worldwide through the network for its 'Heal A Life With Love' event September 17th from 7:00P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Saint Peter's Church in New York City. The jazz community is honoring jazz artist Armsted Christian who is suffering from Sarcoidosis and walking the corridor of a double-lung transplant. This disease has touched close to home for Drew's family by way of his father passing from it.
