LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Nacional Records) - With multiple hit singles topping the charts in South America, Gonzalo Yanez is poised to tackle North America following recent buzz-building showcases at the LAMC in New York, LAMC Mexico and LAMC Argentina.

Yanez was invited to join Chilean rock legends Los Prisioneros as the guitarist on their last world tour and studio album.

Nacional Records is proud to announce that Gonzalo Yanez will release his self-titled U.S. debut album on November 4th. A rock troubadour with pop sensibilities, Yanez currently has multiple singles topping the radio and MTV charts in South America.

Growing up in an artistic family in Montevideo, Uruguay, Yanez found more inspiration in 60s classics like the Beatles and Joni Mitchell than the 90s alt rock movement. He picked up the guitar at an early age, finding natural ease in songwriting. "I don't know how to play piano or read music but songs come to me very quickly," he explains.

By the age of 10, Yanez had already recorded two children's albums. Several years later, his family moved to Santiago, Chile and he established himself in the local scene, forming a band named No Me Acuerdo. Following the success of No Me Acuerdo, Jorge Gonzalez, famed lead singer for Chilean rock legends Los Prisioneros, ended up inviting Yanez to join the band as their guitarist. He performed with the band on their world tour and the recording of their 2004 release 'Manzana.'

In addition to his own solo releases, Yanez has produced and written hit songs for several Chilean pop stars. He was described by one Chilean newspaper as the "Phil Spector of the wi-fi generation." "I know that in rock, the riff is always considered more important than the melody but I prefer the latter," Yanez says. "For me, it's the rhythm and melody, and then, the lyrics."

It is those infectious melodies and massive choruses that have helped his solo work shine. With a rabid fan-base growing across Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, Yanez was invited to showcase at the 9th annual Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) in New York City this past summer. The success of that performance led to invitations to both LAMC Mexico and LAMC Argentina earlier this fall.
