Sweden's Blindside are currently wrapping up a successful string of sold out shows on their U.S. headlining tour in support of their new album The Great Depression (produced by Lasse 'Lars' Marten). The Great Depression was released August 2 and debuted at No 89 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and No 8 on the Independent chart with almost 12,000 sold its first week. Early radio for the first single, 'Fell In Love With The Game,' includes spins at WXTM Cleveland KXTE Las Vegas, KISW Seattle, and KFMA Tuscon. In addition, the single is currently No 30 at CMJ Metal radio and No 19 at FMQB Metal radio with 102 spins. Look for the video, directed by Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights), on MTVU now! The band's official website is www.blindsideonline.com.
Hailing from Burlingame, CA, the four members of Aphasia, ranging in age from 19-22, studied music from very young ages, meeting in junior high as a result of their common bond in music. In late 2003, the band made the collective life changing choice to leave school and focus on music as a full time career. 'We talked with a lot of people when we were looking for a record company,' said Harber. 'The folks at DRT were so passionate about our music and it felt like the right place for us. We can't wait to get out there and play our music and for people to hear our record.'
Aphasia are set to release their debut album, Fact & Fiction on September 13. The 11 searing rock tracks were produced by Trapt's Chris Brown, and the video for the album's first single, the powerful 'Flatline,' was directed by Chris Sims (Lamb of God, Shinedown, The Kinison). 'Flatline' is also prominently featured in the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise summer blockbuster movie 'War of the Worlds.' The band has just completed their first national tour have already been named one of XM Radio's 'best of unsigned,' with over 150,000 downloads on their page at purevolume.com.
