Nightmare Revisited with 20 fresh recordings and beloved covers of the music, mayhem, and merriment from Tim Burton's The
Nightmare Before Christmas.
Danny Elfman returns to recapture the musical landscape he masterfully created for the original The
Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack with two brand new recordings of the 'Opening' and 'Closing.' Adding a new tantalizing twist to
Nightmare favorites,
Nightmare Revisited also boasts an eclectic array of today's music superstars including Korn, Amy Lee, Plain White T's, Rise Against, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Flyleaf. Of course the soundtrack could not be complete without a popular ghost of Nightmare's past: Marilyn Manson's eerie cover of 'This Is Halloween.'
Each artist re-imagines the most beloved Nightmare anthems, incorporating their signature styles and bringing a hauntingly delightful new sound to life.
Danny Elfman adds, 'The new Nightmare Revisited is much more diverse compared to the 13th Anniversary Special Edition. The approach in every song is different. Instead of just covering the songs, they turned groups loose on the score itself. Hearing all these interpretations of the songs and score is a huge treat. There are bands with their psychedelic abstract visions - Sparkle Horse, Vitamin String Quartet and Polyphonic Spree - and they're counter-balanced with solid performances by Korn, Rise Against and All American Rejects.'

The soundtrack captures the musical landscape Danny Elfman masterfully created for the film. Key tracks from the soundtrack and film include: "This Is Halloween," the song which introduces the storyline; "Jack's Lament," in which Jack expresses his frustration with his life; "What's This?," Jack's exuberant testimonial to Christmastown; "Jack's Obsession" in which Jack realizes his new-found desire for Christmastown; "Kidnap the Sandy Claws," which unveils Lock, Shock and Barrel's plan to abduct Santa Claus; "Making Christmas," Halloweentown's off-kilter impression of Christmas; "Sally's Song," a tender ballad of unrequited love; "Oogie Boogie's Song," the evil demon's gloriously ghoulish tribute to himself; "Poor Jack," a song of self-awakening in which Jack discovers he truly belongs in Halloweentown; and the finale reprise performed by Jack, Sally, and the citizens of Halloweentown. About Danny Elfman
Danny Elfman has established himself as one of Hollywood's leading film composers. Elfman has written close to 50 film scores featuring his unique sound, including Batman, Spiderman, Men in Black, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Pee Wee's Big Adventure. In addition to these signature soundtracks, he has scored such diverse films as Big Fish, Good Will Hunting, Dolores Claiborne, Midnight Run, To Die For, Dead Presidents, Sommersby, Chicago, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Simpsons Movie, Meet The Robinsons, Charlotte's Web as well as creating infectious themes to The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives for television. Recent projects include the score for Milk, a Broadway musical on the life of Houdini, and later this year, the score for Wolfman. In June 2008. Elfman collaborated with Tywla Tharp on "Rabbit and Rogue," his first composition for ballet.
