New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nostalgia, the seventh solo album from Annie Lennox, is out today and the legendary singer-songwriter is celebrating its release with a series of television appearances. She will visit "Good Morning America" tomorrow, October 22, "Live With Kelly And Michael" on October 23 and "The View" on October 24. Her two-part interview on "Tavis Smiley" will air on October 23 and 24 and Annie will appear on the "Meredith Vieira Show" on October 28. Her recent interview with "Entertainment Tonight" can be viewed below.
Lennox, who was featured on NPR "Morning Edition" today, will do a Q&A session at 7 p.m. tonight in New York City with author/Rolling Stone contributing editor Anthony DeCurtis at Barnes & Noble-Union Square, where she will also be signing CDs and vinyl. Details are available HERE. The appearance follows a pair of events in Los Angeles last week - a sold-out evening at The GRAMMY Museum® and a vinyl signing at Amoeba Music that attracted a throng of fans.
Yahoo! Music on Rolling Stone noted, "[while the] album may be called Nostalgia…she proves that talent is timeless." Nostalgia features Lennox's fresh and hauntingly beautiful takes on iconic American compositions by such artists as Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Billie Holiday and Screamin' Jay Hawkins. It was released on vinyl last month and, beginning today, is now also available digitally, on CD and - in an Amazon exclusive - as a deluxe CD/DVD package.
Lennox's live performance video of "Georgia On My Mind" premiered on Elle.com last week and the track shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Jazz Song chart, while two other songs from Nostalgia, "I Put A Spell On You" and "Summertime," occupied the No. 2 and No. 3 spots respectively. Her live performance video for "Strange Fruit" premiered on TheGuardian.com yesterday. Find all four videos and order the album via nostalgia.annielennox.com.
