Nashville, TN (Artemis Gospel) - Phillip White, President of Artemis Gospel, recently announced essential additions to Artemis Gospel's developing radio team.
A primary move for the label was naming Benita Bellamy-Richardson as Vice President of National Radio Promotions. A Tennessee native, Bellamy-Richardson brings over 10 years of experience in the music and entertainment industry to the label's emergent radio department. Leading the new radio and retail promotions team is an exciting challenge for Bellamy-Richardson, who intends to bring a new vigor and excitement to the label's promotions strategies and help expand Artemis Gospel's influence in the marketplace.
'Benita's addition to Team Artemis is a key part of our building the next generation Gospel label,' said White. 'Not only does she bring necessary experience but also a vision for bringing Gospel music into the mainstream.'
Prior to Artemis Gospel, Bellamy-Richardson most recently functioned as label manager for Sanctuary Records Group's Reggae and Catalog division working on projects with legendary reggae artists Steel Pulse, Luciano and Gregory Isaacs. Formerly, she spent five years at EMI Christian Music Group/EMI Gospel as their Marketing and Promotions Manager. While at EMI, Bellamy-Richardson, was an integral part of the marketing team working with Stellar and Grammy Award winning artists Smokie Norful, CeCe Winans, The Blind Boys of Alabama as well as key gospel acts Donald Lawrence & The Tri City Singers; Bishop T.D. Jakes and the Potter's House Choir; Aaron Neville and Darwin Hobbs. Bellamy-Richardson will be based at Artemis Gospel's headquarters in Nashville, TN.
'My goal is to build a strong foundation of integrity, creativity and professionalism for the department,' said Bellamy-Richardson. 'We have young, intelligent and dedicated new team members who not only believe in our artists but most importantly believe in the mission of Gospel music - to impact and change lives.'
Newest members Deidre Hayes and Vaughn Alvarez came aboard in early January and both were retained to help Bellamy-Richardson maximize the label's increased presence at Gospel radio. Additionally the department as a whole has taken on the mantle of growing the promotions department in three key areas: independent retail relationships, Internet alliances and video promotions. Bellamy-Richardson and her team will undoubtedly contribute to the label's direction and visibility.
'I'm thrilled to have Dee on board working with both radio & retail and Vaughn is our young New Media wiz which will be vital in the years to come as we compete and succeed in the growing age of e-commerce,' said Bellamy-Richardson. 'I am confident that both, Deidre and Vaughn's background and skills will help advance this label to the next level.'
