The night of April 5, 2006 kept getting better. When Axel was awarded a Premios Gardel for Mejor Album Artista Romantico/Melodico (Best Album Romantic/Melodic Artist), also mastered by Jose Blanco at Master House Studios, his already smiling face started beaming.
'It's been a great year for us with 2 Grammy and 6 Latin Grammy nominations,' said an elated Blanco.
'Also being nominated outside of the U.S. in a large market such as Argentina is very rewarding' Blanco, who owns and manages Master House Studios, located in Miami, Florida - the Latin music capital of the world - was also the mastering engineer for two other Premios Gardel A La Musica 2006, the Argentine equivalent to the American Grammy Awards, nominated projects: Los Pericos - Mejor Album Grupo de Rock (Best Album Rock Band); and Los Pericos - Ingenieria De Grabacion/Mezcla y Masterizacion (Best Engineered Album).
In January 2006, Blanco was honored for his mastering work on two Grammy nominations: Best Salsa/Merengue Album - Tito Nieves' Fabricando Fantasias (SGZ Entertainment) and Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album - Tropicana All Stars with Israel Kantor's, Tradición (Regu Records Corp.). In addition, Jose Blanco's mastering work was recognized on five projects nominated for Latin Grammy awards including the aforementioned Best Traditional Tropical Album - Tropicana All Stars: Best Male Pop Vocal Album - Franco De Vita; Best Merengue Album - Kinito Mendez; Best Contemporary Tropical Album - Bacha; and Best New Artist - Ilona. A sixth nomination was for Best Salsa Album - Oscar D'Leon, which was recorded at Master House Studios by engineer Carlos Santos.
