WHASINGTON, DC. (PATYNA COMMUNICATIONS) - Amikaeyla, a World renowned vocalist will debut her Solo CD at HR57, the historic Jazz and Blues club in Washington, DC. The Washington Area Music Association has nominated her as Jazz Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, World Music Female Vocalist of the Year and Urban Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year. An open mic and drum jam session will follow concert.

JazzSpiritWorld and Proudfoot Productions proudly presents Amikaeyla in concert, performing selections from her CD, MOSAIC. Local and national performers will appear with her to commemorate this milestone, on September 9th, 8:00 p.m. at HR57, 1610 14th Street NW, Washington, DC.

Amikaeyla has been performing professionally since 1990. She mesmerizes audiences with her own soul-stirring rhythms, sultry ballads and a crystal clear sound. She has shared the stage with legendary vocalist Yasmeen, of Sweet Honey In The Rock; Mickey Hart, of the Grateful Dead; percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo and world renowned African drummer, Baba Olatunju. She recently returned from India, where she performed for the commemoration of the Golden Buddha, at the International Festival of Sacred Chanting and Singing, by invitation from the Dalai Lama. Lisa Austin of MTV Online says "Amikaeyla's voice is like listening to velvet waterfalls..." The Washington Area Music Association has nominated her as Jazz Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, World Music Female Vocalist of the Year and Urban Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year.

This celebration will include World Music, Open Mic, soul food and a Drum Jam after the show. However, it does not end there. Amikaeyla believes in Apartying-with-a-purpose.@ A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mautner Project, The National Lesbian Health Organization for Women with Cancer. A nominal fee of $10 will give you an opportunity to experience one of the most captivating voices of all time.
