New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Capital House
Music Festival launches their 2020 World
Music Events series with two FREE festivals at DC's Meridian Hill Park (Malcolm X Park). The Official Summer Opener - May 23rd and The Official Summer Closer -
September 5th, 2020 from 11am to 9pm. #CapHouseFest raises awareness and donations for Inner City
Music Programs in the DC Metro area. Since we started in 2018, we have donated over $50,000 in funds, instruments and in-kind donations to non-profit charities.
Our 2020-21 charity is Living Classrooms of the
National Capital Region. Our goal is to help them build a music production studio in DC. Our charity has students perform and give presentations at the Festivals. Our vision is to continue to use the platform to support those inner city youth through music programs as we make the event bigger and better.
#CapHouseFest has great traction and spotlights DJs and live acts that perform, showcasing local and world flavors of dance music. Our Summer Opener proudly has a dozen acts from the region and around the globe, and features seven (7) female artists. Our 2020 line up includes the high-voltage house music dance band WorldTown SoundSystem, Salah Ananse, Sam "
The Man" Burns, IFE, Tantra, Chosen, Tia Dae, Benoit, Tee Alford, DJLa Deeva and DJ OJI.
The festivals are free, open to all ages, and LGBTQ friendly. Unlike EDM/Rave festivals, CapHouseFest caters to the fabric of House
Music (i.e., peace, love, respect, freedom and unity). The House
Music community consists of a diverse world mix touching all cultures and ethnic backgrounds coming together to enjoy the gift of dance.
The concept for #CapHouseFest came from a collaborative idea of two transplanted New York DJs: Tantra (managing partner of Chrysis Entertainment) and Chosen (promoter, owner of Milk Chocolate City) to create an all-inclusive music festival similar to events around the country. Many have asked, "Why isn't this happening in our nation's capital? DC is an international city, shouldn't it host the largest festival of this movement in America?"
Thus, the concept of "America's House Party" was born and came to fruition in 2018. Our first festival was well received with over 1,000 attendees and we nearly tripled attendance in 2019. Attendees came from as far as New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Charlotte. We have raving reviews and a surge of followers on social media. Join us for an epic Summer in our nation's capital.
