NEW YORK (Endurance Music) - Independent singer/songwriter and a very distinctive character with his tattoo'ed skull DANIEL CARTIER will be releasing his new album Revival on Endurance

Daniel will be performing for four days straight in Los Angeles from Sept. 8 through Sept. 11 at The Cavern Club Theatre (1920 Hyperion Ave., Los Angeles).
Daniel will be hitting New York City on Sept. 14 at The Cutting Room (19 W 24th St @ Broadway, NYC) and then at The Fez (380 Lafayette St, NYC) on Sept. 15 for a benefit for The
Harvey Milk High School. In addition, he contributed "Be With Me Here" to the Marry Me compilation to be released in October 2004 on FigJam Entertainment.
Cartier has been a memorable character in the music scene since his initial burst in 1997 when he was signed by Elton John to Rocket Records for his engaging subway sessions. Known as the "subway troubador of Avenue A", Cartier released his major label debut Avenue A (named after the main drag in NYC's East Village) to critical acclaim, plaudits and praise.
Unfortunately, his label fell victim to the PolyGram dissolution in the late 90s and he went label-less for a few years. Undaunted, he continued his trek through the industry, and is now gearing up for the national release of his new album Revival on Sept. 21st (available at www.danielcartier.com and many online outlets).
Wandering through the workings of this very outspoken artist with a keen eye for detail and a big heart for emotion, Revival skips from the discofied flirty funk of "Supafly" to the electro-tinged yearnings for love of "Everybody Wants to Be Loved By Somebody" to the folky angst of "All the Times I've Seen You Go By". The ballad "What's It Gonna Be?", a tribute to Matthew Shepard, is a haunting track which combines piano flourishes amidst his distinctive five-octave vocals. Revival has received early praise from Boston Globe ("Cartier is back in the public eye with a vengeance"), Bite Me (" a modern-day Morrissey") and most noticeably Out, saying "What makes Cartier an innovative artist is that he doesn't restrict himself to one genre - traces of soul, electro, and folk-punk manage to mingle refreshingly well on Revival."
In addition, Cartier contributes the heartfelt lovesong "Be With Me Here," to FigJam Entertainment's Marry Me compilation out in October 2004. A double CD containing songs by over 20 gay, lesbian, straight and transgendered artists, 50% of the proceeds will benefit the ACLU Foundation's Lesbian & Gay Rights and AIDS Projects.
Conceptually organized as music to be played at the ceremony and reception for gay marriages and commitment ceremonies, Marry Me also contains tracks by artists such as Bree Sharp, RuPaul, and the irrepressible transvestite Hedda Lettuce (with vocalist Yolanda under the moniker Chixie Dix). Cartier will also grace the cover of the album.
A national tour will be announced shortly.
