TAMPA BAY, FL. (www.annipiper.com) - Annie Piper has just released her first commercial CD "Jailbait" through Black Market Music at Melbourne, Australia.

During a countrywide tour of Australia last year with Molten Mike, I had the pleasure of jamming with Anni at a club in Wollongong. She laid down a solid groove on her 5 string.
After the Jam, we talked briefly. She said her dream was to make it as a musician. I suggested that she should follow her dream and go for it.
She has gone for it in a big way.

This 10 song CD features Anni Singing her all original blues material. It was recorded at Sydney's premier A# Studio, www.asharp.com.au, and was engineered produced and mixed by Jeff Cripps.

The band consists of Anni on Vocals and bass, Allan Vander Linden (listed as co writer on 7 of the songs): guitars, Marcus "Bro" Adamson: guitar and slide guitar, Wayne Olbrich: blues harp, Shane Elliott: keyboards, Andrew "Jacko" Jackson, drums, Trent Batchelor, drums and Jeff Cripps: percussion.
Mastering was done by Paul Bryant at Sony Music Studios.
Anni has offered up a tasty stew of Blues styles.

The title track "Jailbait" starts with a slinky green onion inspired shuffle with dirty guitar licks and provocative lyrics.
"Live to Play" has solid blues/rock riffs and is about the compulsion to play music.
"Two's Company" is a sexy slow blues, with a sexier story.
"Come in my Kitchen" is a blues Funk with the seductive hook: 'You can come into my kitchen, get a little taste of what I mean'.
"Man's Woman" Slow acoustic guitar and vocal describes the earthy kind of woman that blues men dream of.
"Hitch Hiker Special" is a straight ahead shuffle with a nice story line and strong vocal and instrumental hooks.
"Blow my cares Away" is a Chicago style jump blues with a wall of harmonica sound from Wayne Olbrich's blues harp. The story is about the Windy City (Chicago? or maybe Melbourne?) and has an incredible lyrical hook 'Windy city on a windy day, get a little closer let me blow your blues away...'.
"Real Blues Momma" is a Rockabilly Blues with a hot slide guitar lead.
"Ain't Nobody Watchin" is a slow blues with hot harp and electric guitar leads and the hook "When there ain't nobody watchin', who's gonna watch out for me?"
The final track "I couldn't tell You" is a Southern Rock style of Blues with excellent rhythm and more of Anni's signature vocals.
All of the songs are well recorded, the rhythm section cooks , the leads are clean and Anni's slightly gravely alto voice stands out with it's clarity and pitch. Anni's bass playing is solid and in the groove. Did I mention that she is also very attractive?
This is a CD that will be in permanent rotation in my collection of Blues music.
Anni Piper has arrived, and you would do well to invite her in.
