PHILADELPHIA, PA. (www.redlemonfly.com) - The new anti-war and anti-violence song, 'Always Love' from Redlemon's new CD, 'Fly [The End of Wars, declares that, despite the current overwhelming culture of violence, love is the ultimate weapon against war. It uses the famous U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's quote, 'The only thing we have to fear is fear itself' and directly criticizes those who say that God tells them what to do. The song and CD are now available on iTunes and CDBaby.com, and their website is www.redlemonfly.com.

'Always Love' starts with the lines, 'You say that you want a war now / you say we may fight and die / but if you do you'll experience / eternal paradise.' Says Rob Redlemon, the group's leader, 'Apparently some folks think targeting innocent people helps them get into heaven. I think they're in for a rude awakening."

The song goes on, 'God tells you what to do now, you say that you know the truth, but all I see is through a child's eyes, that's blind to the world you know.' 'When two people fighting each other claim God told them what to do, how do you tell which one is right? Seeing from a 'child's eyes' means that you refuse to blindly accept this ultraviolent world we live in, and remain innocent enough to recognize the sheer power of love. With all the attention paid to war, crime, and hate, we are absolutely saturated with those things and become inured to, and even enamored of, violence. It's the new pornography. We have to remind ourselves that an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and that there is always love, it exists without and beyond us, it never goes away, it is the ultimate weapon,' says Rob.

'We can't be naive, but it does seem like common sense from the schoolyard. If some bully punches you in the eye, it makes sense to punch back, you can't deny that. But if there is some other former bully who you punched back fifteen years ago, but he's left you alone, doesn't have anything to do with the new bully, and now you go punch him again, what's the point there? We need a tough, but good, rep in the global schoolyard. That not only makes sense, but is morally right.'

'Fly [The End of Wars' also includes a song featuring spoken word poetry samples from the famous poet Kenneth Patchen ('Truly'). The title song, 'Fly,' includes contributions from Jay Davidson (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston), Charlene Holloway (Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle) and Sonya Klinger.

Reminiscent of other musical efforts that reported on current events and have political statements to make, like the Pet Shop Boys, Elvis Costello, and the Clash, Redlemon says they would love to see a multi-million person march for love. "It would be great to have a huge march for love, where millions of people, of all different views, came out just to march for the positive idea of love, not necessarily against one thing or another. Maybe it sounds too idealistic in our "post-modern" cynical society, but "love" as an idea competes with all this violence in our popular culture, and we think it needs some better marketing support!"
