Portuguese Star Ana Moura Returns To The Gallo Center For The Arts March 12
Modesto, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Gallo Center for the Arts) Ana Moura, the internationally renowned 'Fado' singer, appeared at the Gallo Center for the Arts in the organization's first season, and again in 2010, earning high praise for her performances. Now she is scheduled for a return engagement at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 12.

Moura is popular at the Gallo Center in part because Modesto and its neighboring communities in the Central Valley are home to many of California's more than 300,000 residents with Portuguese heritage.

Tickets for Moura's performance range from $15 to $40, and may be purchased online at GalloArts.org, by phone when calling (209) 338-2100, or at the ticket office, 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto. Organized groups of 15 people or more receive a 15% discount on tickets. For group sales, call (209) 338-5062.

Hailing from Santarém, Portugual, Moura's soulful interpretation of her land's dramatic Fado singing style has elevated her to icon status in Europe. Her fans admire Moura's distinctive, gentle and persuasive approach to the genre, which is said to personify the Portuguese psyche as it explores such universal themes as lost love, separation, and longing.

Among Moura's hits that connect with audiences are "Leva-me aos Fados," "Caso Arrumado", "Rumo ao Sul" and "Fado Vestido de Fado."
