New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Blkmarket Membership) The first weekend in
September is going to be a BIG weekend in the history of Electronic Dance
Music in New York City: lots of roaring going on and for the first time "Cocoon Heroes" is coming to town!
The date is Sunday,
September 2nd, which is the Sunday of Labour Day, and perfect for special celebrations like this one. Cocoon is looking forward to bring its successful party concept to one of the most exciting cities in the world!
The general motto for Cocoon's events is "Cocoon Heroes", which illustrates the fact that everybody is a hero - not only the DJs but also the performers, the people behind the scenes and, above all: YOU - our fans, our crowd and everybody on the dancefloor!
All over the world, fans have identified with this campaign by adding the 'Heroes Flash' to their profile pics on social networks and thus showing that they like and support us. We wanted to honour this commitment by continuing the Heroes campaign at our various residencies worldwide. Of course, this artwork concept is also part of the Cocoon Residence in NYC!
Some words on the event itself and its promoting company: Cocoon, founded by Sven Väth, consists of the record label that spreads high-quality electronic music all over the world, the booking agency that represents the scene's best artists, the unique Cocoonclub in Frankfurt - voted Best Club in the World by UK's Mix Mag -, the successful residency in Ibiza every summer and, several open air events in Germany and other European countries, as well as many festivals where Cocoon is present with its own floor and where our crowd is partying with us like there's no tomorrow...
And for the first Cocoon Heroes event in NYC, we have a very special line up:

Onur Ozer
Onur's musicality has formed under the same variety of influences as has his native city, Istanbul - music from Asia,
Europe and the
Middle East shaped the rhythms and melodies of his childhood and youth. This cultural diversity still comes radiating through in all of Onur's musical output. At the end of the 90s, Onur began to be seduced by electronic music, when Istanbul developed a thriving tech and minimal house scene in whose center Onur started his career as producer and DJ at the beginning of the new millenium. In 2003, he already held various residencies in Istanbul's best clubs and traveled abroad to his first performances as a DJ.
In 2005, he released his debut „Freakdisco EP" on Freude Am Tanzen, followed by „Envy EP" on Vakant, and he was soon awarded best newcomer of the year by the German music magazine Groove. His next two EP's on Vakant, „Twighlight" and „Red Cabaret", found their way into the playlists of international trendsetters such as Sven Väth or Ricardo Villalobos. In the meantime, Onur also gained Europe-wide fame as a skilled DJ. Sven Väth had already taken notice of him and invited him to play at Green&Blue 2008 - not long after, he became part of Cocoon's booking roster. Onur lives in Berlin.
Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts
Ever an energetic actor in the electronic music scene, Montreal based artist Guillaume Coutu Dumont maintains numerous collaborative projects, performing regularly in his hometown and around the world. Driven by his passion for hybrid forms of musical expression, Guillaume continues on his quest for the ultimate ham bone funk recipe with his solo project: Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts a special blend of funk, house, techno, gospel, swing and afro-beat. His first album FACE À L'EST was released on Musique risqué in 2007. So far, his solo outputs are available on Mutek_rec, Musique Risquée, Hartchef Discos, Floppy Funk, OSLO, Raum Musik and on French labels Circus company and Karat. His second album BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL (Circus Company) will land on the decks on May 3rd.
Guillaume's initial musical forays were as a percussionist in a funk band, after which he studied latin and classical percussions in college before discovering electroacoustic composition, which he pursued further at university. It was during this period that he joined [iks], a contemporary jazz formation with whom he recorded two albums and toured for several months in Senegal. Upon his return to Montreal, Guillaume decided to focus his efforts on composition.
Influenced as much by concrete music as by techno, which he discovered one night in the midst of a lightning storm, Guillaume founded Egg (Mutek_rec, Karat, Floppy Funk), Luci (Mutek_rec, Morris Audio), Chic Miniature (Raummusik, Musique Risquée), Flabbergast (Mutek_rec), as well as the artistic collective Racam. He has toured with one or another of these projects in north/south America,
Europe and Asia. Since january 2007, Guillaume has reached European soil. Like many other, he chose Berlin as his new homebase. Traveling all around the block, he is always looking to get the dance floors grinning with guilty pleasure. SHAKE THAT ASS!
Premiesku
Romanian duo Livio & Roby, together with their pal
George G, sometimes like to play with words, make anagrams or combine formulas. As a result of this game, they derived a name „Premiesku" for their mutual project, suggesting „premiere" which resonates as a Romanian name. That is what their collaboration is about - a unique new experience, which is already gaining accolades from many party heads, acclaimed music professionals and opinion leaders.
The name reflects the music: crossing of their diverse vibrant inspirations and moods breeds a new concept of genuine, recognizable sound. As virtuoso audio engineers, they intelligently structure their (sometimes) heterogeneous ideas into powerful and dynamic compositions that catches the heart, the body and the mind of a listener. Compact „four to the floor" patterns, inspired with classic deep house,
Detroit techno and tech house are switched up and deconstructed, resulting in a hypnotic brew. Driving and energetic solid grooves are fused with a plethora of colors and sonic twists, ranging from Balkan cultural heritage to surreal theatre. Their outstanding production has been released on influential labels such as Cecille, All In, Desolat.
During everyday studio sessions of experimenting and fitting the pieces of their imaginary worlds together, computers with straightforward and intuitive softwares are a necessary tool. But digital environment is not enough for expressing all those subtle feelings and stories they want to tell. Essential tools for this transmission are music instruments; they are vital for articulation of emotions, and sharing it with the audience. That is why Livio, Roby and
George decided to leave the virtual world aside and create a real, analog environment for their live performances.
They did what no one did before - designed three special consoles consisted of parts of various machines. These hardware racks are tailor-made based on their draft, put together by an old fellow in a workshop in the heart of Romania. A inimitable gadget for each one of them is their vision of playing electronic music without computer. With this innovative setup, they have entered the era of their analog sound! The concept is launched at Time Warp Lab in Mannheim on March 31 2012. Guys presented their machines at the workshop „Premiesku analog sound" organized by Desolat, explaining the new way of playing using the examples from their debut album "Constant" which will be released on Desolat in September. Also, their fresh ideas are presented through their latest release - "indirect" EP released on Desolat in May.
