LONG BEACH, CA. (ThePrimeSpot.com) - This weekend, ThePrimeSpot.com celebrates its seventh year of existence.

THE PRIME SPOT's initial website was created on 9/9/99 @ 9 a.m. with musician Leldon's homepage before he was signed by MCA. TPS was designed to "localize the web," focusing on the TPS (Talent, Products, and Services) of Long Beach and surrounding cities in Southern California. TPSradio, a demographic radio show broadcasted live from both CSULB and Cerritos College, plays music of bands with upcoming gigs in the 562 area (code) of Southern California. All genres, all languages.
In previous years, TPS celebrated its anniversary at Recreation Park, Long-Beach-Arts.org, The Sky Room ... This year it's a three day celebration.

Friday, September 8th
Celebrate the Change of Ownership of NuArt Cafe with an early night of MISTER B Music from 6-8 p.m. "... Roy Orbison collides with U2 vocal style ... MisterB rocks on his Wade in the River CD with songs that evoke a lifetime of experience. MisterB's songs have been getting played on college and Internet radio and two songs, 'Lucky Stone' and 'Doo Wop Boys', have been placed in indie films." ( Visit misterbmusic.com ).
NuArt Cafe is located at 2741 E. 4th Street (at Temple) Long Beach, CA 90814.

TPSradio.org, broadcasted live from CSULB, follows from 9-11 p.m. Friday Night, spotlighting CardCaddie.com's inventor Derek Slocum and music the first hour and G.Murray Thomas spinning The Best in SoCaL Poetry the second hour. Listeners can "Log On, Tune In, and Turn Up" TPSradio on kbeach.org or hear the show on Long Beach Community Television via Charter Cable TV Channels 65, 69 or 95 in Long Beach and Signal Hill, CA. (For archived show podcasts, visit https://www.ListenatyourLeisure.com/ )

Saturday, September 9th
Saturday Night, Larry Williams performs at the Cotton Club West. Larry began his career as Little Richard's band leader and has performed with Ike & Tina Turner, The Gap Band, and many Grammy award winners and platinum artists as a first call musician for MoTown and A&M Records. Visit https://www.larryowilliamsandfriends.com for show specifics and mention "The Prime spot dot Com" at the entrance for free admission at 9 p.m. (Also visit CottonClubWest.com Note: The club is located right next to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in downtown Long Beach).

Sunday, September 10th
Although FOODCASTING.com might suggest podcasting at a restaurant, TPSradio will resume that function at Podcast Expo later this month (September 29+30, Ontario, CA). Meanwhile, Long Beach locals are invited to Sunday Champagne Brunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the prime spot to meet up. Visit Foodcasting.com for specifics and RSVP online.

October is Arts Month...
The festive spirit of celebrating art and music will carry over into October, whenTPSradio will be spotlighting the talent-filled HepCAwareness.org Telethon and many other events taking place in the area during Arts Month. (This also includes a personally narrated bus tour by KaRi, ThePrimeSpot founder). Over 31 events throughout the month in Long Beach and surrounding areas will assure Southern California residents that they are truly living in "The Prime Spot". (Check Club562.com and ThePrimeSpot.com for event listing in October).

Karen Marie Nielsen is a California transplant from the east coast and former writer for the View From the Hill Newspaper. She is currently seeking sponsors for TPSradio and podcast. To learn more about Ms. Nielsen, visit https://www.misspod.com/ and https://www.lbweekly.com/.
