SYDNEY, Asutralia (Sony Music Australia) - One is the hottest name in West Coast rap, has his own MTV show and five killer albums. The other is an explosive rock machine who write the most damn catchy songs you might ever hear... catch Xzibit and Switchfoot LIVE at the MTV AVMA's on March 3!
MTV have just announced that Xzibit and Switchfoot (both touring Oz over the next few weeks) are set to join the international line-up to perform LIVE at the first-ever MTV Australia Video Music Awards on Thursday, March 3, alongside Ja Rule, Chingy, Kelly Osbourne, Green Day, Simple Plan and more...yahoo!

And a warning to celebs and punters attending - Xzibit will also be hosting the red carpet proceedings at the MTV AVMA's, so lookout! Host of his own MTV show 'Pimp My Ride' and red carpet host of the MTV Europe Video Music Awards in Rome last year, expect plenty of off-beat antics from this crazy cat on the Oz red carpet.

Hosted by the Osbourne's, the AVMA's will be telecast live on MTV networks from the Big Top at Luna Park, Sydney. More than 1200 guests are expected to party at the awards, which will be broadcast to a potential audience of 145 million viewers on MTV Networks around the world.

With five solo albums under his belt, the host of the MTV top-rated show 'Pimp My Ride' and a box office smash with 'Eight Mile', West Coast rapper Xzibit has accomplished a hell of a lot since his debut album in 1999. Xzibit's latest album 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' "will have people laugh with me, dance with me and think. This is a strong record," said Xzibit, who worked with well know producers ansd artists Ric Rok, Rock Wilder, MC Lyte, Busta Rhymes and more on his fifth album.

Meanwhile, Switchfoot's success has been virtually endless. The explosive San Diego rock squad's heartfelt music is about "communicating and connecting with people on a different level," says lead singer/guitarist Jon Foreman. Switchfoot has performed over 300 mostly sold-out shows worldwide in the last year alone, in front of over 1.25 million people - sheesh! The band's potent and amazing fourth record, 'The Beautiful Letdown' - released three years after their third independent release, the critically acclaimed 'Learning To Breath' - is already double Platinum in the US.
Catch the inaugural MTV AVMA's live on Thursday, March 3 from 6pm... on MTV!!
