LOS ANGELES (Mastamind Productions, LLC) - Kevin Epps, acclaimed digital filmmaker and founder of Mastamind Production, LLC will release his latest production "Rap Dreams", in movie theatres, on DVD, and Podcast (downloadable for $1.99), all simultaneously. Set to release on March 10 of this year, Rap Dreams will be screened at select Bay Area theaters. Theaters include the Roxie Cinema in San Francisco, the Parkway in Oakland, CA, with other cities, LA, NY, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, to follow.

"Rap Dreams", Epps latest follows the lives of three upcoming rappers, Kev Kelley, Hectic, and Oakland's own Mistah FAB, as they journey thru the underground of the San Francisco and Bay Area independent hip-hop scene and follow their dreams of becoming rap superstars. This film contrasts the subjects' bling bling dreams with reality.

Epps who recently received "Favorite Independent Filmmaker of the Year Award" 2005 at the Northern California Film Production Community is excited and optimistic about this new method of multiple distribution channel releases at the same time, especially for the independent filmmakers who often struggle with finding distribution, digital media and technology. 'We now have a global audience, via the internet. You can go to the movies, buy the DVD, download it to watch on your iPod, it's the viewers choice', says Epps. The likely benefactors of this form of distribution are the independent filmmakers who don't have the backing of major Hollywood production companies.

About his recent partnership with Current TV, Epps had this to say 'This is a great opportunity for me as an independent media maker to have access to 20 million viewers hourly to see my work and hear my voice, about a very important, relevant and current story. This is the digital revolution and I'm a part of it'.

"Rap Dreams" is not the only upcoming work that Mastamind Productions, LLC. www.mastamind.com has to boast about. Along with Rap Dreams, Mastamind Productions, LLC has the following working titles tight under their belts: The Black Rock (blackrockfilm.com), a documentary film about the untold story of the African-American experience at Alcatraz and is also being developed into a feature length screenplay. Preparing Legends, a workout DVD by world renowned fitness trainer Raymond Ferris, who has trained and worked out with Barry Bonds, Jerry Rice, Eddie George to name a few.

Epps who has received many accolades including Best Documentary Award (2003) Pan African Film Festival for creating Straight Outta Hunters Point (SOHP) (2003), an award-winning film that garnered critical acclaim and launched Epps into the spotlight. SOHP has been described as "a raw uncompromising film about the evolution of a black culture dealing with very complex social, economic, environmental and gang-related violence issues'.

"he Straight Outta Hunters Point" (SOHP) DVD is available online direct from the director at www.mastamind.com. The site also features other independent titles such as "Sydeways" and "Caubamor". "Sydeways" is a documentary filmed in Oakland, CA, where they call it "The Sideshow"...the newest illegal street sport. "Cubamor" brings viewers to a colorful and spiritual world, mixing magical realism, surrealism and the immediacy of cinema verite.

In addition to being a devote documentary filmmaker, founder of Mastamind Productions, LLC Epps works with many organizations including Conscious Youth Media, Film Arts Foundation, BAVC, and is a frequent speaker at many forums on digital filmmaking.
