New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On "Goin' Thru Changes," the first single from her new album 'Turn Me Loose', Ledisi shows a bold honesty that complements her timeless and one-of-a-kind voice.
"A lot of people around me were having problems in their relationships, and I talked about it in this song," explains the "powder-keg R&B singer" (New York Times). "Cheating is a very risky topic - people possibly cheating, or cheating at all - but it does happen and there are two sides to every story. And those two sides needed to be heard. The truth hurts sometimes and hopefully this song will help people examine their relationships and fix any wounds that need healing."

The bare-all tone of the song is exemplary of the whole album, out August 18 on Verve Forecast. "On my previous album, I was little bit contained. But I said on my next project that I was going to be off the chain vocally. I promised to be more honest and talk about stuff that people don't like to talk about," says Ledisi, "I've always done that. But on this album, I went for everything.".

Ledisi says she was most inspired by Buddy Miles' "Them Changes" and wanted to achieve that "freedom sound" on 'Turn Me Loose.' On this record, Ledisi worked with producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Raphael Saadiq, Chief Xcel, Chucky Thompson, Ivan and Carvin, and Fyre Department.
