BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Four years ago multi-platinum selling rapper MIKE JONES set the world on fire with his debut album, Who Is Mike Jones? by having everyone recite his phone number 281-330-8004, chanting "Who? Mike Jones," and re-igniting an interest in the Houston rap scene.
Now, in 2009 he is, again, off to a great start with his first single, "NEXT TO YOU," riding up Radio & Records "Rhythmic" chart currently Top 20 (No 16). "Next To You" is the 1st official single off of Jones' sophomore CD, THE VOICE, due in stores April 28th on Ice Age/Swishahouse/Asylum Records.

Produced by J.R. Rotem, on the guitar-laden smoothness of "NEXT TO YOU" we find MIKE JONES rapping about a girl that understands the spotlight and isn't tripping about him being in it.

In addition to J.R. Rotem, THE VOICE offers production by Mannie Fresh, Mr. Collipark and The Package Store, Bigg D and Jim Jonsin, Kojack, Essay Potna and Mike Dean and features guest appearances by Lil' Wayne, T-Pain, Devin The Dude, Hurricane Chris, and Twista.

MIKE JONES, anxious to get THE VOICE to the people says of his hiatus: "For the past four years I have been doing a lot of restructuring: Getting this record right, making sure my business is right and more. Now I am ready to finish what I started. I'm hoping my fans will feel THE VOICE was worth the wait."

MIKE JONES is currently readying a promotional tour in support of THE VOICE and will be in LA from March 17th and 18th, San Francisco on March 19th, and Portland and San Diego on March 20th.
