ATLANTA, GA. (Boys & Girls Clubs of America) -- R&B singer Kelly Price and husband/manager, Jeffrey Rolle are on their way to joining the ranks of many prominent celebrity duos in the entertainment industry by giving back and supporting causes that make a great impact on our nation.

Price and Rolle don't just sing about family, they are adding to their impressive list of musical accolades and collaborations by partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) to support National Family Week, Nov. 19-25.

National Family Week was founded in 1968 by Sam Wiley, a teacher and school administrator in Indianapolis. For more than 30 years, the National Alliance for Children and Families, a nonprofit membership association representing children and family service organizations in the U.S. and Canada has directed National Family Week, with support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

While promoting her new CD, This is Who I Am, Price and husband Rolle, will take time to acknowledge the importance of family. With two children, Jeffrey Jr. and Jonia, the couple stresses the positive influence that a strong and positive family has on the attitudes and actions of young people.

"With our busy schedules, both Jeffrey and I make sure to take time to spend with our family," says Price. "Although things were rough in my family growing up, I still had the love and support I needed in order to be successful. We just want to make sure that our children have the same support."

In 2001, Price released One Family that featured a collection of both traditional and contemporary holiday songs. Even in her music, Price is an advocate for family togetherness.

Growing up in the projects of Queens, New York, Price has seen her share of broken families filled with despair. Regardless of the loss of her father at age nine and her mother working to make ends meet, Price was still surrounded by a loving and supportive family that influenced her to work hard and attain her dream of becoming a singer. The granddaughter of a Pentecostal pastor, Price and her family were faced with the crisis of her mother and mother-in-law fighting breast cancer. As a result of the loss of her mother- in-law, and her mother's survival of inflammatory breast cancer, Price raised $250,000 and donating the proceeds to the T.J. Martell Foundation and the G&P Foundation for Cancer Research.

During the week of Thanksgiving, Price and Rolle will join BGCA in promoting National Family Week. For years BGCA has supported families in efforts of developing strong and aspiring youth. In 2005, with the generous support of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, BGCA launched Family PLUS (Parents Leading, Uniting and Serving), a program designed to reach out to the families of some 4.6 million Club members. Family P.L.U.S. assists local Clubs in building the capacity to form collaborations with caregivers as parents in the positive development of children. The program focuses on kinship care, father involvement, economic opportunity, outreach, recruitment and retention. BGCA's Family Advocacy Network (FAN Club) is also a component of the Family P.L.U.S. program.
