BURBANK, CA. (Warner Bros.) - The Crimea, among a handful of the UK's most critically acclaimed new bands, will embark on their first-ever U.S. tour following the release of "Lottery Winners On Acid EP," their import EP on Warner Bros. Records. The band's full-length debut album, "TRAGEDY ROCKS," is scheduled for release at the end of May 2005. Actual release date will be confirmed shortly.

With a sound characterized by Kerrang as "wistfully ethereality is delightful in its twisted psychadelic tales of love gone awry," The Crimea features founder and frontman Davey Macmanus, whose literate lyrics and incisive melodies "consolidates all three Kinks eras - Sixties, Seventies, Eighties - in a slick lathering of wit and whimsy," according to the Austin Chronicle. "Lottery Winners On Acid EP" was produced by the group in their home studio and features the tracks "White Russian Galaxy," "Baby Boom," "Bombay Sapphire Coma," "Opposite Ends" and the title track.

The Crimea will open for Ash and The Bravery on a select series of dates in March, and will additionally appear at the upcoming SXSW conference and festival in Austin, Texas, March 16th-20th, 2005. The Crimea's complete itinerary follows:

Tue 3/8 Bowery Ballroom New York, NY
Wed 3/9 Theatre Of Living Arts Philadelphia, PA
Thu 3/10 Black Cat Washington, DC
Fri 3/11 Cat's Cradle Carrboro, NC
