The Decemberists To Headline 2011 Newport Folk Festival
Foster City, CA (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) The Newport Folk Festival has announced that The Decemberists will headline the first night of their 2011 festival on Saturday, July 30. General public tickets will go on-sale March 31 at 10:00am ET. The band's outdoor stage performance on ABC Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air on April 5. They have also added an August 12 date at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles to their summer touring schedule. See below for a full list of tour dates or visit The Decemberists' website.

Following the No 1 Billboard debut of their album The King Is Dead on Capitol Records, The Decemberists have notched another career first No 1 as the album's lead single "Down By The Water" ascends this week to the top spot on the Mediabase AAA radio charts. The band also continues to enjoy their biggest Modern Rock radio success to date with "This Is Why We Fight" climbing into the Top 20 at the format.

On April 16, The Decemberists will release Live At Bull Moose, a limited edition EP in conjunction with Record Store Day. The seven-track CDβ€"which will be available exclusively through participating independent record storesβ€"was recorded live at Bull Moose in Scarborough, Maine, and includes songs from The King Is Dead, as well as a cover of the country ballad "If I Could Only Win Your Love" by The Louvin Brothers.
