Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin - It's My Party

Dave Stewart's all-synth arrangement, sonic/harmonic invention and fresh, unmistakeably English vocal style mark this track out as a 80's pop landmark and the beginning of the original and distinctive Stewart/Gaskin sound. Dave Stewart (keyboards) and Barbara Gaskin (vocals) are English musicians who have been working together since 1981, when their first single 'It's My Party' reached number one in the UK. The duo release their music on their own independent Broken Records label and occasionally perform live as a trio or quartet with guitarist Andy Reynolds and drummer Gavin Harrison.
