MELBOURNE, Australia (www.infusion.net.au) - From Infusion Website: Some of you might be aware that on Sunday night, after two previous nominations, we were awarded the ARIA for 'Best Dance Release' for 'Girls Can Be Cruel'. (nb, people from overseas, the ARIA Awards are the major national music awards for Australia, similarly to the GRAMMYs in the US) It was amazing to win and considering the incredible talent of the other Australian nominees, winning was a complete surprise for us as we were really only there for the free food and drinks. Cam Farrar, Mr Timothy, Nubreed and Cut Copy all rock very hard and the quality of the nominees had us think there was no chance of picking up a pointy statue. It has been a ridiculously busy and fantastic year for us and this is another highlight that we are 100% aware that we owe to the hard work and support of the people that surround us. Some of you we have only known for a few months, others for years, and whether you are a cheerleader or part of your job description entails working with us, we really appreciate everything that is done and wish we could have thanked everyone on the night, rather than bumble our way through an acceptance speech that we never thought we'd have to make. We have also attached a photo that was taken from the BMG camera during aforementioned bumbling speech. With love & thanks, Jamie, Manuel, Frank Infusion www.infusion.net.au P.S. There was no one we would have preferred receiving the statute from more than Paul Mac. Yay to the ARIAs for that!
