NEW YORK (Capitol Records) - Capitol recording artist Skye Sweetnam is hitting the road with another high profile artist: she's been invited to open for Ryan Cabrera on his current tour. Sweetnam toured extensively with Britney Spears this past spring, opening for her on 50+ U.S. and European dates.

16-year-old Sweetnam co-wrote all the songs (except for one cover) on her debut album, Noise From The Basement, which was released September 21st and debuted at No 4 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. On the eve of the album's release, Skye performed her first single, "Tangled Up In Me," on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." "Tangled Up In Me" is currently in rotation on over 100 radio stations, and the accompanying Phil Harder-lensed video recently aired on MTV's "TRL" in a "First Look" segment. Rolling Stone named Skye one of "10 Artists to Watch" in its October 14th issue, and she has already been featured in Blender, Teen People and Teen Vogue.

It's been a busy summer for Skye. She was the featured artist on AOL Breakers in August and September, and performed at this summer's MTV-televised Pantene Pro-Voice music competition. Her song "Number One" was featured in national TV spots for the WNBA airing this season on ABC, NBC, ESPN and TNT, and "Imaginary Superstar," another track from Noise From The Basement, was featured in the recent MGM movie Sleepover. Earlier this year, Sweetnam recorded the theme song for The N's "Radio Free Roscoe," and made her acting debut in the show, too. She was also featured in an episode of "Switched," the ABC Family Channel's No 1 rated show.
