The festival also celebrates Black History Month, and pays tribute to the world's most influential music legends such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, producer Sir Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, and honored others.

The holiday weekend begins on Saturday, February 19th, featuring Jimmy Cliff, Alpha Blondy, Ozomatli, Tanya Stephens, Midnite, Leroy Sibbles, Frankie Paul, Melodians, Mr. Vegas, Easy Star All Stars, Shinehead, and Detour Posse. Sunday, February 20th, features Steel Pulse, Israel Vibration, Barrington Levy, Don Carlos, Misty In Roots, Kevin Lyttle, Rupee, Gentleman (Germany), Martin Campbell (UK), Tribo De Jah (Brazil), Calibe, and Detour Posse. The festival MCs will be Jamaica's top radio DJ, Richie B (Hot 102) and Amlak Tafari.

On both days, the concourse of the Long Beach Arena will be transformed into the RaggaMuffins International Crafts and Food Fair, featuring food, crafts, and clothing from around the world. The festival is always a family friendly event. Children age 12 and under will be admitted for no charge, when accompanied by a paid adult. The Children's Activity Space, provided by the What About The Children? Foundation, is an annual tradition where kids are entertained with storytellers, face painting, and other enriching activities.
