NEW YORK (Sixthman/ Virgin Megastores) - Sixthman and Rock Ridge Music have announced that four bands from their rosters will be performing as part of a nationwide Virgin Megastores benefit: 100 Acts of Support – The Concerts for Tsunmai Relief on Thursday, January 20th. In-store performances are scheduled to take place at all twenty U.S. Virgin Megastores. Participating Sixthman and Rock Ridge Music artists and their performance locations include:

Sister Hazel (Union Square, New York City store location): Roots rockers Sister Hazel combine their inspirational lyrics and passion for music to continually satisfy fans with every album release. Their latest project, "Lift," released Fall 2004 on their own Croakin' Poets Records/Sixthman imprint, proves how shared ideas and collaborated efforts create new tracks that quickly become fan favorites. Named in reference to the uplifting feeling fans associate with Sister Hazel's music, "Lift" features songs on a variety of topics. Their current single "All About The Love" is a testament to their band's stature as one of the top-selling independent bands in the nation.

The Ike Reilly Assassination (Union Square, New York City store location): "Sparkle in the Finish" is the new album from the Ike Reilly Assassination (October 2004 release). Reilly's songs are compelling, often times hilarious, and wholly original. In recent months, Ike has been featured on the cover of the arts section of the New York Times, while stellar reviews have been pouring in: Maxim gave it 4 out of 5 stars, the Chicago Sun-Times and the Boston Herald both gave it 3 ? out of 4 stars, the Knoxville News-Sentinel gave it 5 out of 5 stars, while the Chicago Tribune called it one of the top 10 indie albums of 2004. VH1 News is airing a news item on the band repeatedly over the next few weeks.

Love.45 (Denver store location): Denver,CO-based alt-rock four-piece Love.45 released their self-titled album on Rock Ridge Music on November 9th. "Love.45" was recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, with 3 Doors Down guitarist Chris Henderson producing and Geoff Ott (Nickelback, Unwritten Law, Melissa Etheridge) co-producing and engineering. Already scoring heavy-rotation airplay on hometown rock radio station KTCL, Colorado press outlets have been praising the release: Westword called the album "Gigantic. Huge. Massive. Although those words aptly describe the production on Love.45's latest, they're also a perfect descriptor of what this act will be in a year."
They Walk In Line (Ontario, CA [Los Angeles area] store location): For their first full-length recording, "Medical Necessities," the members of They Walk In Line have crafted a soundscape reminiscent of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and Echo & The Bunnymen. The album, which offers 11 songs including the standouts "Sonic Tremble," "Revenge," and "Heart Attack At 5AM," was produced and recorded in collaboration with Jerry DiRienzo (Cell, Ugly Beauty, Lotusland) and Mark Lewis (Idaho, West Indian Girl). The record is slated for release on February 8, 2005.

In addition to the performances by these four Sixthman and Rock Ridge Music bands, the one-day benefit event will include live band/artist performances across the country, with all proceeds from the event being donated to the Music for Relief Fund in support of the American Red Cross International fundraising efforts, for the victims of last month's tsunami.
Fans who attend the 100-act concert will be offered the chance to purchase a bracelet which will allow them an opportunity to show their support for the event. Virgin Megastores will donate to the American Red Cross International Response Fund $2 for each wristband sold at the Virgin Megastores 100 Acts of Relief Concert on January 20th, 2005 to benefit tsunami relief efforts. An auction, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Tsunami relief efforts, will also be held at all Virgin Megastores during the concert.
