NEW
YORK (Eagle Rock Ent.) - Eagle Rock Entertainment is privileged to
present a crushing performance by a metal legend with the release of
DIO's Evil Or Devine on CD February 22, 2005.
Recorded at New
York's Roseland Ballroom on Friday the 13th of December 2002, Evil Or
Devine displays Ronnie James and company wrapping up their tour in
support of Killing The Dragon (Spitfire).
"Releasing a new album
at any time in your career is special in itself, but to have the
opportunity to record it before a great New York City audience at the
almost historic Roseland Ballroom was the icing on the cake," reflects
Dio. "I've always said that you're only as good as your audience, and
that night's performance proved it. Whether it was the electric energy
that coursed through us all, or the ghosts of the great musicians who
had played Roseland before us, it all worked. Please enjoy it. We did."
Beginning
his career in the band Elf, Ronnie James Dio then went to join Ritchie
Blackmore's post Deep Purple outfit Rainbow. After a few albums, he
moved on and replaced Ozzy for a short period in Black Sabbath before
going solo.
It's been 20 years since the release of the first
Dio LP Holy Diver and it would be a harrowing feat to sum up the
countless classics in the Dio catalog. Evil Or Devine canvases the
spectrum of the Dio catalog and is the audio companion to the
successful DVD released last year (Eagle Rock Entertaimnent) . Joining
Ronnie on stage that evening is Jimmy Bain (bass), Simon Wright
(drums), Doug Aldrich (guitar) & Scott Warren (keyboards).
