Los Lobos Announce Cancionero 2005 Tour

LOS ANGELES (Los Lobos) - In 2004 Los Lobos celebrated thirty years together by releasing The Ride, Ride This: The Covers EP and Los Lobos Live at the Fillmore DVD while rockiní enthusiastic audiences throughout America and Japan.

To kick start 2005 the legendary band will make a u-turn to their early days, unplug (most of) their instruments and tune their guitarones, jaranas and bajo sextos. Since Cancionero 2005 is about the songs, Los Lobos will offer new arrangements of their best loved tunes as well as folkloric songs from a variety of Latin American countries including Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
As in the beginning of their career the three-time Grammy-winning band will focus on the rich diversity of Mexicoís music, where the vocal treatment, instrumentation and all important rhythm changes from to region to region. Whether itís norte?a, ranchera or Veracruzís jarocho itís sure to be pure Los Lobos.

Aside from a brief test run in spring of 2004, this is the first time Lobos fans have been treated to this side of the band since their ìLa Pistola y El Corazonî tour over fifteen years ago.
