BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros. Records) - The Ditty Bops, the acclaimed duo of Amanda Barrett (vocals, mandolin and dulcimer) and Abby DeWald (vocals and guitar), have followed up the release of their debut album on Warner Bros. Records last October with a string of high-profile activities, including four songs to be featured on "Grey's Anatomy," the new ABC-TV series.

"Grey's Anatomy," a medical drama starring Patrick Dempsey, Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight and Sandra Oh, will premier Sunday, March 27th immediately after the network's mega-hits "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "Desperate Housewives," with four of the first five episodes spotlighting such Ditty Bop originals as "Walk Or Ride," "There's A Girl," "Wishful Thinking" and "Wake Up."
"Grey's Anatomy" Creative/Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes said, "The Ditty Bops have created a sound that's fresh, exciting and infinitely creative. For me, their sound captures the spirit of 'Grey's Anatomy.' Every time we use one of their songs, it enhances a scene. We love The Ditty Bops over here!"

The Ditty BopsIn other Ditty Bops developments, the duo is starting a new national tour on March 10th, sharing shows with Tegan & Sara, along with other appearances ranging from in-store performances to two showcase spots at the upcoming SXSW music conference in Austin, Texas, on March 18th and 19th.

A pair of California artists who cite such diverse musical influences as western swing, ragtime, early jazz and musical theater, The Ditty Bops' debut album was produced by Mitchell Froom, best known for his work with Bonnie Raitt, Crowded House, Elvis Costello, Los Lobos, Jimmy Scott and others. The band has appeared on national television shows ("Extra," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson"), and featured in national magazines (The New York Times Magazine, Interview, Flaunt, Zink, Harp and others), as well as touring with the Dresden Dolls, Nancy Sinatra and Betty Serveert.
