LOS ANGELES (Capitol Records) - The veteran British band Jethro Tull blends hard rock, folk melodies, blues licks and complex lyrics with distinctive rock flute flurries. On April 26, Capitol/EMI Music Catalog Marketing continues its Jethro Tull reissue campaign with the release of three 24-bit remastered albums from the 1980s, each with bonus tracks, newly-penned liner notes by vocalist Ian Anderson, and added booklet photos. Included are 1982's The Broadsword and the Beast, 1984's Under Wraps, and 1987's Crest of a Knave, remembered as the Grammy winning entry in that year's new award category: Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, with competition in the category including ..And Justice For All by metal-masters Metallica.

Jethro Tull's first Grammy Award may have been a bit off the mark in terms of category, but considering the band's extensive discography spanning over 30 years, as well as the merits of the album itself, the recognition could hardly be considered undeserved. Since forming in 1967, Jethro Tull has released more than 30 albums, earning 12 Gold and 5 Platinum sales awards in the U.S. alone.
The Broadsword and the Beast

Originally released in 1982, this album featured the usual Tull sounds of drums, bass, guitar, and - of course - flute, mandolin and other acoustic instruments complete with vocoder and sequencer, which made it unique. The Broadsword and the Beast is another Jethro Tull remaster replete with original and restored sonic detail. It also features eight brilliant bonus tracks recorded during the original album sessions, but left out of the original tracklist due to the TRT limitations of vinyl.

Bonus tracks:
Lap Of Luxury (video)

Originally released in 1984 with the advent of the then new digital technology and more sophisticated synthesizers, Jethro Tull embarked on creating a largely electronic album of songs mostly devoted to spies, secrecy and subterfuge! Anderson's vocals were as good as they would ever be, extending his range and power like never before. The remastered version of Under Wraps also features a bonus video of "Lap Of Luxury."

Crest of a Knave
Steel Monkey
Farm On The Freeway
Jump Start
She Said She Was A Dancer
Dogs In The Midwinter
Budapest
Mountain Men
The Waking Edge
Raising Steam

Bonus track:
Part Of The Machine
The album that won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance despite not being a metal album! Originally released in 1987, Crest of a Knave was the first Tull record to be mastered on digital media. The album combined the best of Martin Barre's guitar and Ian Anderson's flute in the harmony and unison phrasing, evident in "Farm On The Freeway" and "Jumpstart." The remastered version also features the bonus track "Part Of The Machine."

Other available Jethro Tull titles include:
Aqualung
The Very Best Of Jethro Tull
Thick As Brick
Songs From The Wood

and many more..
