NEW YORK (Columbia Records/ www.lotlikelove.com) - Columbia Records/Sony Music Soundtrax will release A Lot Like Love (Music From The Motion Picture) on Tuesday, April 12.

Touchstone Pictures and Beacon Pictures present "A Lot Like Love," a sophisticated romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, opening nationwide on Friday, April 22.

The first single from A Lot Like Love (Music From The Motion Picture) (which may be heard in trailers for the film) is "Brighter Than Sunshine," a lush and unforgettable romantic ballad from Aqualung, the musical brainchild of British prodigy Matt Hales. Strange and Beautiful, the first American album from Aqualung, will be in stores on March 22.
Rolling Stone, in a four-star review of the album for its March 10th issue, wrote: "Uniting Radiohead-ish British rock and symphonic pop in the masterly mold of Burt Bacharach, the Beatles and the Beach Boys, tenor Hales delivers keenly focused keyboard-based drama that blows away all pretenders trailing in Coldplay's wake. 'Garden State' soundtrack fans, take note."

"A Lot Like Love" is a romantic comedy about destiny, connection and the frequently fuzzy line between chance friendships and happily-ever-after. The film traces the mishap-fraught relationship of Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) and Emily (Amanda Peet) who meet on a flight from Los Angeles to New York in the late 1990s, each of them declaring that, while their chemistry is undeniable, they couldn't be more wrong for each other. Life keeps bringing them back together over the next seven years, but the timing never seems right.

The songs chosen for A Lot Like Love (Music From The Motion Picture), which include authentic dance, pop, and radio ballads from the period covered in the film, echo the shifts in Oliver and Emily's relationship, highlight their personalities and emotional states, and provide musical touchstones for the moods of an era shifting from the freewheeling late 1990s to the 21st century.

A Lot Like Love (Music From The Motion Picture) includes "Breathe (2 AM)," a hauntingly melodic examination of life's uncertainties from emerging singer-songwriter Anna Nalick, whose debut album, Wreck of the Day, will be in stores on Tuesday, April 19. Anna Nalick's "Breath (2AM)" and Jet's "Look What You've Done," each prominently featured in the film and on the soundtrack album, are currently enjoying burgeoning radio success across the country.

A Lot Like Love (Music From The Motion Picture) also features tracks by Third Eye Blind ("Semi-Charmed Life"), Smash Mouth ("Walkin' On The Sun"), Eagle-Eye Cherry ("Save Tonight"), The Cure ("Mint Car"), Hooverphonic ("Mad About You"), Ray LaMontagne ("Trouble"), Travis ("Know Nothing"), Chicago ("If You Leave Me Now"), Groove Armada ("Hands of Time"), Jet ("Look What You've Done"), and Butch Walker ("Maybe It's Just Me").
