OKLAHOMA (SONY Nashville) - Platinum-selling country musician and Oklahoma-native Joe Diffie has been added to the line-up for the April 22nd concert for the Oklahoma City National Memorial in Oklahoma City. Diffie joins an amazing list of Oklahoma artists for the event, including Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Ty England, Katrina Elam, Jimmy Webb, Byron Berline, plus up-and-coming artists from the Centennial Rodeo Opry.

The 7 PM CT concert will be held at the Ford Center in downtown Oklahoma City, 100 W. Reno Ave 73102. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 4th at the Ford Center Box Office or online at www.tickets.com.

The Memorial Concert is being held as part of the ceremonies surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing. On the morning of April 19, 1995, at 9:02 AM, a massive explosion occurred which sheared the entire north side of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Downtown OKC, killing 168 people.

Diffie, honored to take the stage on April 22nd, shares his memories about that fateful day in 1995. 'I'll never forget where I was on that terrible day. I was in Anchorage, Alaska doing a couple of shows. My sister worked near the building and I was very concerned about her safety. As it turned out, she normally jogged by there every day, but was called away to a meeting that morning. I took up a collection from the audience both nights I was there, and matched their donations and sent it to the proper agency. I'm very honored to have been asked to participate, and will proudly be there to remember my fellow Oklahoman's who were taken from us.'

The Memorial Concert is being presented by the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and the Oklahoma City National Memorial during the 10th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing, the National Week of Hope. The concert is a prelude to the grand finale of the National Week of Hope, the Memorial Marathon run, which kicks-off Sunday, April 24.

Kari Watkins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial, is grateful for everyone's support, 'The concert is a way for the Memorial to thank the people of Oklahoma who've worked so hard to support us with their generosity and giving spirit.'
