LOS ANGELES (Domo Records/ www.ku-kai.com) - Domo Records is excited about its Grammy and Golden Globe winning composer Kitaro's new release, Sacred Journey of Ku-kai: Volume 2. Kitaro notes, "This new interactive website (https://www.ku-kai.com/) will enable listeners, fans and students to explore the same places, experience the same sounds and capture some of the beauty I have experienced as I recorded this new project. This website is meant to act as a learning tool for students and an international passport for my fans. I hope students and music aficionados alike with join me on this wonderful 'Sacred Journey of Ku-kai.'" Kitaro's concept for the Ku-Kai series was inspired by the events of September 11, 2001, which occurred while he was en route from Japan to Los Angeles. Kitaro's jet liner was diverted to Honolulu for five days, during which time the conceptual endeavor - which he envisioned as an artistic means to help unify people globally - took shape. And Kitaro will speak with Smooth Jazz TV's Cameron Smith in a rare U.S. interview and television appearance nationally televised on April 16th (https://www.smoothjazztv.com/). Cameron Smith, President of Center Stage TV and host of the award-winning Smooth Jazz TV syndicated show, noted, "Kitaro's appearance on Smooth Jazz Television is a milestone for the show. Not only is it our benchmark 250th episode - it's the first time we've had a Golden Globe and Grammy winner on the same show!" Sacred Journey of Ku-kai: Vol. 2 is part of a series of recordings dedicated to peace: both internal as well as external world peace. Like the first album from the series - nominated for a Best New Age Album Grammy Award - Sacred Journey of Ku-kai: Vol. 2 contains samples from ancient Japanese temple bells (peace bells) and is intended to inspire spiritual awakening and a profound sense of peace in its listeners. This CD visits eleven amazing destinations in the path that Ku-kai originally traveled more than 1,100 years ago around the almost 1,000-mile perimeter of the island, and which Kitaro himself is following in the present day. And Sacred Journey of Ku-kai: Vol. 2, the new release by internationally acclaimed Kitaro, is also available on iTunes.
