NASHVILLE, TN. (Miranda Lambert Official Website) - Country music artist
Miranda Lambert will headline a concert in her hometown for the first time ever Saturday, June 4, at Lindale Eagle Stadium in celebration of her hometown's 100-year birthday. The Lindale Centennial celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. with the Lindale Centennial
Parade featuring
Miranda Lambert as grand marshall through downtown Lindale.
"My hometown has been so supportive. They are excited for me but they also know me as the same ol' Ran and that's even more special," says Lambert. "My friends and family think it's cool if they see me in a national magazine or something but when it comes down to it, I'm just Ran. I recently made the front page of The Lindale News and so did Brookshire's when they got a new donut display case and everyone was just as excited and buzzing about that! That's what living in a small town is like and I love it!"
The festivities will also include several all-day events including live entertainment, food and craft booths, antique tractor display and a dog trot. The Lindale Library along with other local historical buildings will hold displays, "yesteryear" demonstrations, story-telling, hands-on activities for children and more. The celebration will culminate Saturday evening with Lambert and opening acts Kacey Musgraves of Mineola and Casey Rivers of Lindale performing at Lindale Eagle Stadium.
'As a community, Lindale is very excited for Miranda to be coming home and performing in front of everyone who has supported her," states celebration organizer MaryAnn McClenny. "We have all watched Miranda grow and come into herself as an artist and person. We are thrilled for her success and feel blessed to have such amazing local talent helping us out with the Centennial Celebration.'
General admission tickets for the performance are $8 for students, $10 for adults in advance. All tickets are $12 at the door. Children under 5 attend free.
