NASHVILLE, TN. (Broken Bow Records) - Broken Bow Records rising star JASON ALDEAN continues climbing the charts with his first single, 'Hicktown,' which hit #20 with a bullet on Billboard and #14 with a bullet on the R&R country singles charts this week. 'Hicktown' is the lead single from Aldean's self-titled debut album released on July 26, 2005. During album release week, Jason Aldean hit the road with a whirlwind schedule of radio tour stops and performances across Florida.

A couple of the cities in Florida that Jason visited included Tampa where Jason performed for a crowd of more than 400 at the Dallas Bull and Ocala where Jason performed at Pappa's Honky Tonk to a sold out crowd of more than 550. Performing at Pappa's Honky Tonk was like a homecoming for Jason. He played at that same club for many years on the club circuit when it was called Stillwater.

On July 28th, it was off to Lakeland, FL and an all-too-familiar club to Jason called Buck Wild. When Aldean previously played Buck Wild, he was a victim of circumstance having had a hurricane hit that day – it wasn't surprising that a small crowd showed up that night. However, things were a lot different this time, but Jason's manager and band members wouldn't let him see just how different it was until time came to go on stage to perform.

Jason stepped on the stage to a capacity crowd – many of which had been there for two hours waiting to get in the club. 'I was quite surprised when I walked onstage to see so many people there,' shares Aldean. 'Not only was the place packed, some of the fans had even made signs.'

The performance on July 29th proved to be a show that everyone in attendance will more than likely remember for a long time. Jason played Joyland in Sarasota, FL to a sold-out crowd of 1,100 people. During the first five songs of his set, Jason broke not just one, not two, but three guitar strings. As if that wasn't odd enough, the grand total of three guitar strings that were broken, were on three different guitars! However, that wasn't all! That very same night a lightning bolt struck the side of the stage, knocking out the power but thankfully nobody was injured. Once power was restored, the show continued. Jason stayed to sign autographs for several hours at the close of the show.

'Jason Aldean rocked the house, and it was a mob scene to meet him,' said WCTQ Program Director Mark Wilson. 'This guy is a rising star!'
