BURBANK, CA. (Warner Bros./Reprise Records) - Glassjaw, who only recently defied rumors of a break up by committing themselves as the main support act on the upcoming tour with The Used, have had to withdraw from the tour due to singer Daryl Palumbo's ongoing battle with Crohn's Disease. Palumbo has been suffering from Crohn's since childhood and it has wreaked havoc on the dynamic singer's personal and professional life. For more information on Crohn's see: https://www.ccfa.org.
The Used will be donating some proceeds from merchandise sales from the tour to help offset some of Palumbo's medical costs.
H2O has committed to replace Glassjaw on the trek, which will now begin August 19 in San Jose. The first 4 dates of the tour (8/13 Colorado Springs, 8/15 Albuquerque, 8/16 Las Cruces, 8/18 Reno) have been cancelled due to the Glassjaw cancellation and the inability to fill the main support slot at this late of a notice.
Seminal New York punk band H2O, formed in New York City in 1994, have been purveyors of hardcore and have built a tremendous following over the years. Says The Used's Branden Steineckert of the situation, "We wish Daryl well soon, and we know how disappointed he is to be missing this tour. He's a great friend and we'll miss him out there." As for the addition of H2O, Steineckert had this to say, "I have f***ing loved H2O for a long time. They are legendary in the hardcore scene and the guys in the band are great friends. We can't wait to play shows with them!"
30 Seconds To Mars is also making the trip. The Street Drum Corps, who just finished the Vans Warped Tour, will also be playing all the dates. The final opening slot on the tour is being filled by a variety of different bands including New Transit Direction, Broke and Day of Contempt (see below).
