BURBANK, CA. (Walt Diseny Records) - Walt Disney Records announces a new pumped-up version of "The Proud Family Soundtrack," in stores August 16, 2005. Celebrating the August 19th premiere of Disney Channel's Original Movie "The Proud Family Movie," this updated compilation is louder and prouder than ever! "The Proud Family Soundtrack" features 5 hot new cuts including "Blowin' Up the Spot" by R&B superstar Omarion (formerly of B2K), who also provides the voice of teen heartthrob and recording artist 15 Cent in "The Proud Family Movie." L.P.D.Z (the stylin' characters LaCienega, Penny Proud, Dijonay and Zoey) give a shout-out with the new song "Together Makes It Better," and Proud Family Movie villain Dr. Carver (Arsenio Hall) contributes "If I Ruled the World." The new tracks join existing songs from the original TV series soundtrack such as the hit song "Fallin'" by multi-platinum artist Alicia Keys, "Respect" by legendary diva Aretha Franklin and "The Proud Family Theme Song" by Solange featuring Destiny's Child.

In "The Proud Family Movie," during an all expenses paid vacation to Legoom Island, Penny and her family are held captive by Dr. Carver, a mad scientist, who tries to get his hands on Oscar Proud's Instant Everlasting Multiplying Formula, which would allow the evil Dr. Carver to create an army of Super G-Nomes to take over the world. When Oscar refuses to reveal his secret, Dr. Carver unleashes evil clones of the entire Proud family, which he sends to their home to find the recipe for the secret formula. "The Proud Family Movie" premieres on the Disney Channel Friday, August 19 at 8:00 p.m. and continues to air throughout the fall.

The soundtrack includes Proud family favorites "The Proud Family Theme Song" performed by Solange featuring Destiny's Child; "Blowin' Up the Spot" performed by Omarion; "Right Here" performed by Jhene; "Fallin'" performed by Alicia Keys; "Throw 'Em Up" performed by Lil' Romeo; "Together Make It Better" performed by L.P.D.Z.; "If I Ruled the World" performed by Dr. Carver; "Boom, Boom, Boom" performed by G-Nomes; "Respect" performed by Aretha Franklin; "Good Times" performed by Chic; "Enjoy Yourself" performed by L.P.D.Z.; "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" performed by Buckwheat Boys; "Bobby's Jam (Dysfunkshanal)" performed by Cedric The Entertainer; and "Use ta Be My Girl" performed by The O'Jays.
"The Proud Family Soundtrack" is available August 16, 2005, for a suggested retail price of $12.98 wherever music is sold. All Walt Disney Records audio products also can be ordered by visiting DisneyRecords.com.
