The Rolling Stones Make A Big Bang On Charts

SYDNEY, AU. (EMI MUSIC AUSTRALIA) - The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang has made a massive first week impact on the charts with nearly two million albums already shipped across the globe!

In what is looking to be The Stones' biggest studio album in over a decade, international chart positions for the new album included:
UK No 2 (only 11 album sales behind No 1)
USA No 3
AUSTRALIA No 4

Other charts included No 3 in Japan and No 1 in Holland and Italy.

A Bigger Bang features all new songs, and is the first studio album by The Rolling Stones since the 1997 Bridges to Babylon. It was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins.

The Stones are currently playing in America on their world tour which will see them perform well into 2006 and while on tour have taken action, on several fronts, to support the Hurricane Relief efforts. The band's 'A Bigger Bang Tour' has made a $1 million donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for Hurricane Katrina. In addition, the band is hosting American Red Cross booths at local concert venues throughout the tour.
