LOS ANGELES, CA. (Capitol Records) -
Liz Phair will launch her latest album, Somebody's Miracle, with a trio of national television appearances. Phair will perform her new single, "Everything To Me," on "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (October 3rd), "The
Ellen Degeneres Show" and "Last Call with Carson Daly" (both airing October 4th, the day of the album's release.) Later that week, she'll kick off a two-month headlining tour of North America. Somebody's Miracle is the follow-up to Phair's 2003 self-titled album, which included the Gold single "Why Can't I."
Yahoo! Music gave the video for "Everything To Me" its world premiere on September 19th and it will go into rotation at VH1 next week. Fans can see Phair perform a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Saturn" at https://music.yahoo.com/ as part of the Pepsi SMASH Cover Art series. "Saturn" is from Wonder's landmark 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life, a work that served as an inspiration for Phair as she recorded Somebody's Miracle. Another cool cover by Phair - the Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper" - appears on the recently released Desperate Housewives soundtrack. Phair's five-song "Rolling Stone Original" session will debut on October 7th at https://www.rollingstone.com. And she'll perform the title song from her new album on the November 20th episode of the WB's "Charmed."
"Tell-all impulse intact, Phair matures - and rocks out - adventurously," said Blender in a four-star review of Somebody's Miracle while New York Magazine called it "her best album yet." The New York Post observed in a live review: "As hot as her lyrics are, she's much more than a pretty blond waif who likes to talk dirty. Her songwriting and unconventional guitar playing shine through the steam."
