Simple Plan has announced details of their eagerly anticipated fall tour. The itinerary celebrates the release of the multi-platinum band's new album, "MTV HARD ROCK LIVE." The set - which features blazing in-concert versions of the Montreal-based band's hits and much more - will arrive in stores nationwide on October 4th.
Currently globetrotting around the world, where the band has sold more than 2 million records outside the U.S., the band returns to North America to kick off a tour on October 22nd at San Diego's SDSU Open Air Theatre, with dates continuing through a November 19th show at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre. Among the trek's highlights will be a two-night stand at New York City's new Nokia Live, set for November 8th and 9th. Support on all dates comes from Straylight Run, Plain White T's, and Paramore. Further shows will be announced in coming weeks.
"MTV HARD ROCK LIVE" captures Simple Plan in their natural element - on stage, playing their trademark brand of rock'n'roll before an audience of revved-up fans. Recorded exclusively for MTV last May at Orlando, Florida's Hard Rock Live, the album includes high-energy performances of songs from the band's RIAA 2x-platinum debut, 2002's "NO PADS, NO HELMETS...JUST BALLS" and 2004's platinum-certified follow-up, "STILL NOT GETTING ANY."
Among the faves featured are such top-charting smashes as "Perfect," "I'd Do Anything," "Addicted," "Welcome To My Life," as well as a bonus acoustic version of the just-impacting new single, "Crazy." In addition, "MTV HARD ROCK LIVE" is enhanced with live video footage of two tracks: "Jump" and "Shut Up!"
A special edition "fan pack" of "MTV HARD ROCK LIVE" will also be available to satisfy die-hard Simple Plan fans. The release packages the CD along with a bonus DVD featuring the entire MTV Hard Rock Live concert. All songs on the DVD are recorded in 5.1 surround sound. The deluxe packaging includes a 32-page hard booklet, tour book and exclusive Simple Plan patch and pin, along with bonus acoustic versions of "Perfect," "Welcome To My Life," and "Crazy."
