NEW YORK, NY (Atlantic Records) - Hip-hop superstar Twista triumphs on the Billboard charts this week as his highly anticipated new Atlantic album, "The Day After," debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and nabs the No. 1 spot on the "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums" chart. Twista's impressive first week sales of nearly 130,000 were driven by the album's smash first single, "Girl Tonite featuring Trey Songz," which has bulleted into the top ten on the national urban radio charts. "The Day After" follows the Grammy-nominated rapper's multi-platinum, chart-topping breakthrough album, 2004's "Kamikaze."

"The Day After" features 15 songs, with cameos from such top artists as Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Kim, Jamie Foxx, Juvenile, and others. "Girl Tonite featuring Trey Songz" was produced by Unusual Suspects - the Miami duo best known for creating the hit song "Let's Go" by Trick Daddy. Other production credits for "The Day After" include Twista and a line-up of such award-winning producers as Scott Storch, The Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins, and Toxic, to name a few.

Long considered one of hip-hop's most revolutionary and in-demand MCs, Twista achieved mainstream success with "Kamikaze" - his first solo release after a seven-year hiatus - as the smash album sold close to two million units and produced two No 1 singles, "Slow Jamz" and "Overnight Celebrity," plus the top-ten hit, "So Sexy."

Twista first captured the world's attention over a decade ago when he was named "the world's fastest rapper" by the "Guinness Book of World Records." Widely recognized as "your favorite rapper's favorite rapper," Twista also has received numerous awards and nominations, including two Grammy Awards nominations, four Vibe Awards nominations, two BET Awards nominations, in addition to nods from MTV's Video Music Awards, ASCAP Awards, the Teen Choice Awards, and the Radio Music Awards. Twista is currently on the road on a promotional tour for "The Day After" with live performances and in-store appearances in select cities.
