BURBANK, CA. (By Jim Baltutis/ Warner Bros. Publicity) - Following on the extraordinary success of 2004's "Absolution," featuring the hit singles "Time Is Running Out" and "Hysteria," Warner Bros. Records has announced the release of "Origin Of Symmetry," the second album from the powerhouse British band Muse, originally recorded in 2001 and now available for the first time in the U.S.

Muse, consisting of Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass) and Dominic Howard (drums) first came to the attention of savvy stateside audiences with their 1999 debut album "Showbiz." Due to label changes, the follow-up, "Origin Of Symmetry" was not released domestically until now. In the meantime, Muse created an international sensation with "Absolution," sparking an intense round of touring across America, including show stopping performances at the Coachella Festival and a headlining spot at the V2004 Festival in the UK, where the album reached number one on sales and airplay charts.
"Absolution" simultaneously rocketed to Top 5 in twelve countries including the Netherlands, Ireland, Japan, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, and Belgium; Top 10 in fifteen countries and Top 20 in twenty countries - all within weeks of its release. As a result, Muse went on to win a pair of European MTV Awards, as well as numerous Q Awards, including Best Act In The World today.

Produced by Muse, along with John Leckie (Stone Roses, Posies, Pink Floyd) and David Bottrill (Tool and Mudvayne), "Origin Of Symmetry" features eleven original tracks including "New Born," "Bliss," "Space Dementia," "Hyper Music," "Plug In Baby," "Citizen Erased," "Micro Cuts," "Screenager," "Darkshines," "Feeling Good" and "Meglomania."

On the album's release, Howard says, "We are really pleased to finally see 'Origin Of Symmetry' come out in stores across the States. It's our second record, which we recorded and released back in 2001. The album was available everywhere apart from the USA, so we were unfortunately unable to do any touring for the album in the US. The album features some of the songs we played whilst touring America this year and last year, such as 'Plug In Baby,' 'New Born' and 'Bliss.' 'Origin Of Symmetry' was quite a musical departure from our first album, and charts our progress towards our latest album, 'Absolution.' It's in shops now, enjoy!"
This album is also available as a Digital Music Download (DMD).
