On November 15th, 2005, Warner Bros. Records will release "Private Investigations - The Very Best Of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler." This collection of songs spans Mark's entire career in Dire Straits as well as selections from his critically acclaimed solo albums. Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler have sold in excess of 118 million albums worldwide to date. "Private Investigations" features tracks from each of Dire Straits' classic albums, e.g. "On Every Street," "Making Movies," "Love Over Gold," as well as the 13 times platinum-selling "Brothers In Arms" album, which to date has clocked up over 20 million sales and achieved No 1 status in 22 countries. It still remains one of the biggest-selling albums of all time. Along with the Dire Straits classics, the album features gems from Mark Knopfler's solo albums such as "Sailing To Philadelphia," "The Ragpicker's Dream" and his current album "Shangri-La."
