LYNCHBURG, TN. (Jack Daniel's PR) - When Country Music stars make their way to the Big Apple for the upcoming CMA Awards, they'll have a little "taste of Tennessee" to take with them, courtesy of the folks at the Jack Daniel Distillery.

Country Music star Aaron Tippin was on hand in Lynchburg, Tenn., with Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Jimmy Bedford and CMA VP of Strategic Marketing Rick Murray to personally select the barrel of whiskey that will be specially bottled to commemorate "The 39th Annual CMA Awards." Each of the commemorative bottles will contain a special "necker" with the CMA Awards logo and date of the special event this year. CMA will be distributing special bottles to all the nominees, presenters and performers over the legal drinking age.

"The 39th Annual CMA Awards," will air Tuesday, Nov. 15 (8-11 PM/ET) live from Madison Square Garden on the CBS Television Network.

"We're proud to join with CMA in helping sponsor Country Music's Biggest Night™ and look forward to a great time in New York City," said Bedford. "The Awards may be a little further from home this year, but we think we've got just the thing to give them a little taste of Tennessee while they're in the Big Apple."

"It is exciting to see so many individuals and organizations from throughout Tennessee joining the CMA Awards in New York City celebration," said Murray. "When our friends from Jack Daniel's asked Aaron and I to come to Lynchburg to actually pick out the barrel with Jimmy's help, we jumped at the chance. It is not only an honor to have Jack Daniel's and our friends in Lynchburg partner with CMA for this year's one-time-only trip to New York, but it was particularly special to have Jimmy help us in the selection process and give us some insight into the Jack Daniel's product. The staff we met were incredibly friendly and tourists visiting the distillery were very surprised to see Aaron - a nice bonus to their visit!

The empty barrel that contained the selected whiskey will be signed by Country artists and will be auctioned off at a later date with all proceeds going to benefit the USO's Operation Care Package program.

Officially registered with the U.S. government in 1866, Jack Daniel Distillery, Lem Motlow, Proprietor, is the oldest registered distillery in the United States and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Based in Lynchburg (Pop. 361), Tenn., the Jack Daniel Distillery is the maker of world-famous Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey and Jack Daniel's Country Cocktails. Your friends at Jack Daniel's remind you to drink responsibly.
