 NEW YORK, NY (KOCH Records ) - The Diplomats, Harlem, New York's favorite hip hop group, won Group of the Year at the Third Annual Vibe Awards, beating out 112, Destiny's Child, The Black Eyed Peas, and the Ying Yang Twins. The awards show, which taped last night, will be telecast on Tuesday, November 15th on the UPN Network. Hailing from East Harlem, The Diplomats, comprised of Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Freekey Zeekey, Juelz Santana, J.R. Writer, Hell Rell, 40 Cal, and Jha' Jha - clearly remain on the forefront of New York City's hip hop scene. Beyond their commercial albums, Dipset also rules the streets with their immensely popular mix-tapes. Diplomat members have each had successful solo careers highlighted by Cam'ron's solo albums which have sold over 2.5 million units - these include the smash, "Come Home With Me" (which has been certified platinum) and "Purple Haze." Since joining the KOCH Records family, The Diplomats/Jim Jones have sold over 1 million albums. These releases include "On My Way To Church" and "Harlem: Diary of a Summer" from Jim Jones, "Diplomatic Immunity 2" and "More Than Music, Vol. 1." KOCH Records will release "Diplomatic Immunity 3" in 2006, along with the debut solo albums from Dipset up n' comers, JR Writer and Hell Rell.
