Los Gatos, CA (UMBRELLA PR) - Boffomedia, Inc., the parody people, announced today the Music Video Cartoon of the Year Contest. The two characters selected to battle for music video cartoon of the year according to Boffomedia, are Gwen Stuffunny, and Mad Donna, and can be viewed at www.mothergooserocks.com/contest. The cartoons feature an animated, look-alike Madonna performing the favorite children's song "Wheels on the Bus." Gwen Stuffunny, the animated look-alike of Gwen Stefani, performs another children's favorite, "Mulberry Bush."

"There is a powerful phenomenon in children's music," said Boffomedia's executive producer, Richard Snee. "Children want so much to listen to the same pop music their parents do, but the subject matter often is inappropriate or the songs contain profanity. Mother Goose Rocks! takes care of this problem by providing songs that sound like the latest hits with G-rated safe classic kids' songs lyrics."

The recently-released DVD is a first in what will be a series of Mother Goose Rocks! DVDs, and is based on the award-winning series of Mother Goose Rocks! music CDs. The DVD combines animated music videos featuring funny characters and clever storylines from favorite nursery rhymes, with today's pop music styles, performed by fictional pop superstars, all in a Top 20 Countdown format. It's all done tongue-and-cheek with the music, lyrics and graphics keeping everyone safely entertained for its duration. Radio stations around the U.S. have begun featuring snippets of the clever tunes, leaving audiences clamoring for the DVD showcasing the funny characters. Parents and older siblings, who enjoy programs like Saturday Night Live, and John Stewart's The Daily Show will love Mother Goose Rocks!, too."

The DVD, priced at $14.95, and CD priced at $9.95, is targeted to children ages 2 to 10 - although grownups will be enamored with the characters and parody and will want to watch too. Like the Mother Goose Rocks! CD series, this wholesome and entertaining DVD is available through Amazon, Walmart.com, Best Buy, Borders, Barnes & Noble and specialty stores nationwide. The DVD is released through Lightyear Entertainment and distributed by WEA (Warner Elektra Atlantic).
